Domestic Abuse - Basic Awareness
The aim of this half day course is to raise awareness of domestic abuse and to enable staff to understand their role and responsibility in relation to domestic abuse.
DASH Risk Checklist Training
The aim of this half day course will be that delegates will have a common understanding of risk when working with other agencies and to identify high risk factors.
Domestic Homicide Review Training
This one day course will provide delegates with the skills and knowledge to manage undertake and participate in domestic homicide reviews. It will also cover Individual The aim of this full day course is to enable staff to carry out domestic abuse screening, risk identification and safety planning and to also facilitate early identification of and intervention in domestic abuse.

Training for members of the Royal College of Nursing which is accredited through the Royal College of Nursing carrying 6 CPD points.
About the course
Domestic abuse is a major health issue and the physical and psychological consequences of living with it can be profound and long-lasting. Health staff have a unique role in supporting those affected by abuse. This training course will draw on current research and contemporary theory to explain the dynamics of domestic abuse and the impacts on those experiencing it. It will conclude by considering what an appropriate health response might look like. 
The Women’s Aid Qualification has been approved by the Home Office as suitable for the IDVA role as well as variety of roles within the domestic and sexual violence sector.
Applications for the accredited training qualification “Effective responses to domestic and sexual violence/abuse” are still being taken. Application forms can be downloaded from the Women’s Aid website.
The qualification is accredited by the Open College Network and is delivered by highly qualified experienced practitioners and trainers within the domestic and sexual violence field. The course content equips learners with the knowledge and skills to carry out their varied roles more effectively.

Women’s Aid provides bespoke training to meet the individual training needs of organisations and has developed tailor made packages of training to suit, through its National Training Centre.
