Child Sexual Exploitation

 "I thought I was the only one - the only one in the world"

There has been a lot in the news recently about Child Sexual Exploitation. It is topic that the Essex Safeguarding Children Board has been addressing and two Task & Finish Group meetings have been convened ahead of the next Board meeting in December. We are working collaboratively with Southend and Thurrock and both meetings had multi-agency representation. The aim of these meetings is to develop strategies and policies throughout the whole of Essex to help further protect children and young people. The ESCB have commissioned awareness raising groups for early in the New Year and further information around these will be made available in the coming weeks.

The issue of CSE is being debated a lot in the media and most recently because of the Children’s Commissioner’s report published this month. A copy of the report can be found here.
