Coming soon… our new adult safeguarding DVD training pack

Over the last few months ESAB officers have been working closely with subject experts, actors and film crew to piece together a new adult safeguarding training pack.

You may or may not be familiar with the previous ESAB training DVD, produced in 2006, however the new DVD will help trainers to cover a range of issues using carefully structured scenarios. The new DVD will highlight issues such as cyber abuse and the risk presented by social media. Other issues to be hinted at on the new DVD include:



Behind the camera: onset with film crew and 2 actors
in a scene that tackles the risks associate with social
media and cyber bullying.



• Financial abuse
• Physical abuse
• Domestic abuse
• Professional boundaries
• Neglect
• Deprivation of liberty and Mental Capacity
• Institutional abuse

Scripts and production have been designed with learner engagement as the central concern. In each scenario the answers will not necessarily be made crystal clear. In many very subtle suggestions will be made which will force the learner to think carefully about what may be implied by the dialogue, body language or behaviour of the characters.

The training pack will be available soon to purchase from ESAB at just £40 per pack which will include both the DVD and a facilitator’s user guide to assist the trainer in using the resource to its full potential.
