Awareness afternoon for General Practitioners & Practice Nurses: Mental Capacity, Safeguarding and Domestic Abuse

The Essex Safeguarding Adults Board is running a free afternoon event at the Basildon Holiday Inn for General Practitioners & Practice Nurses on 24th July 2012 at 2pm.

The event will run in association with the NHS South Essex Cluster and will carry the award of 3 'Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours.'

During the three hour event, expert speakers will share important information concerning mental capacity, adult safeguarding and domestic abuse – helping GP's and Practice Nurses to be more vigilant when spotting the signs of abuse, and to be confident in how to report abuse.

Useful resources will be shared on the day for use within surgeries to support patients, including promotional material for the AskSAL helpline: a helpline which enables anybody to seek information or advice and report abuse where necessary.
