The Women’s Aid Annual National Conference is to be held on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th July 2012 at the University of Warwick, Coventry.
Conference day one: A day of independence
This year, Women’s Aid is providing a dedicated space for representatives from independent; women led organisations to explore their current and future positioning and role in responding to violence against women and children.
On this day delegates will have the opportunity to:
• reflect on progress made by dedicated VAWC services and consider future direction;
• explore the particular challenges they face in supporting survivors and viable solutions for protecting survivors and their children;
• receive practical support in the development and capacity building of local services and consider how to maintain and develop a strong national network of VAWC services.
Day two is aimed at delegates from all professions coming into contact with violence against women and children as a part of their work and those committed to ending violence against women and children.
• increase their knowledge and application of relevant legislation, policy and best practice responses for survivors of gender based violence;
• increase understanding of the frameworks and funding streams for commissioning local violence against women and girls (VAWG) services;
• You are advised to book now as places for this popular event are limited.
Charges for attendance depend upon your organisation’s status, and which days you would like to attend. To book a place at the conference please complete the conference booking form and return by 22nd June 2012.
